The 'Friends' are a body made up of members of staff, parents, former parents and pupils, governors and friends associated with the school. All parents are entitled and warmly welcome to join in all the group's activities. The Association is a Registered Charity.
The group's aims are two-fold:
- The 'Friends' aim to support and organise the raising of funds for the betterment of its' pupils and their activities, over and above that which is provided by the LEA.
- The 'Friends' aim to organise social events for the staff, parents, their families and friends of the School and encourage friendly gatherings and opportunities for relaxation.
Projects funded by FOVES over recent years have included raising money as part payment towards receiving a minibus from the Variety Club. Also an activity play area for the younger children, and part-payment towards a large permanent canopy cover to protect the children in all weathers, as well as other equipment around the school. We are currently raising money for a minibus with a tail lift, which is vital so that physically handicapped pupils can go out with their able-bodied class. The Lords Taveners are helping to fund this project and after recent donations from local organisations we hope to receive this mini-bus in the summer.
However, there are always things that can be provided and we are constantly thinking of new ideas to raise money. We are appreciative of your support and participation at our events and hope you will help us to make a difference to the lives of our children.
